Green Tea
Thirteen representatives from Thajeeb tribe of Yemen, came to visit Prophet (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Prophet hosted them nicely and assigned Bilal (May Allah be pleased with him) to help them. They learned many things from prophet and were ready to return to their tribe to teach them what they have learned. Prophet advised his companions to present each of them with gifts better than what he used to give to any other representative groups. He inquired if any one had left to get the gift.
“Yes, the boy who guards our vehicles outside”
“Please ask him to come over”.
They took that boy to Prophet. He introduced himself.
“I am from Abadee tribe. You have given all members of our group with whatever they need. Will you give me what I need too?”
“Indeed, What are your needs?”
My needs are different from that of my friends. Though they came out of their love for Islam, I came here so that Allah’s prophet will pray for me to get my sins forgiven, to have mercy of Allah upon me and to have Allah put contentment in my heart .
Prophet prayed holding him close :Ya Allah, Forgive this boy, have Your mercy on him and fill his mind with contentment .
He also was presented the same gifts like others. They all returned home.
10th Year of Hijra
The same group met prophet in Madina again.
“Where is that boy who visited me with you?”
“Dear Prophet. We have never seen a person like him. We haven’t even heard about someone who is contented like him in what Allah has provided. Even if everyone is parting and sharing this entire world, he won’t even care”.
“Alhamdulillah, I wish that he should die as “one”".
“Don’t everyone die as just one…? ” they doubted.
“No, there are people who die shattered. Their desires and aspirations will fall apart in the valleys of earth. Death will come to them in one of those valleys. Allah will not care in which one they perished.”
As Prophet wished, that boy lead a contented life. Though a big chunk of people from Yemen abandoned Islam after the demise of Prophet, he remained steadfast in Islam. Lived as a preacher of Islam and turned into a great scholar.
There is no great fortune than living contented in what Allah has provided. Such people can live without any anxiety or envy. They can move ahead without any tension. Those who are drowned in greed and envy can never taste the pleasure in this life. Their hearts are filled with desires and greeds, one after another. They can never be satisfied in what Allah has provided.
Look at the life of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). From today’s perspective, it would be a “life great sufferings”, but Prophet was happy and contented in what Allah had provided. So did his family. Even if they had rough rotis or dried Barley to eat, they were able to live with it happily and say “All praise belongs to Allah, who fed us and quenched our thirst and made us Muslims”. When wearing cloths, they declared “Praise is to Allah who has clothed me with this and provided it for me, though I was powerless myself and incapable”. When mounting on their vehicle: “Glory be to Him who has brought this under our control whereas we were unable to control it. Surely we are to return to Him”. This is the character of a believer, a mind that constantly reminds the blessings from Allah, a mind that seeks pleasure in what Allah had provided, rather than worrying on what was not given.

We all know that the best supplications are made in sujood, at tahajjud time, when it rains, when sick and when travelling. But there are 5 beautifully unique times one can make dua and the dua is most likely to be accepted!
1. When stirring in the night
Narrated Ubada Bin As-Samit that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: ‘Whomever wakes up at night and says La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shrika lahu lahulmulku, wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala kulli shai’in qadir. Alhamdu lillahi, wa subhanallahi wa la ilaha illallahu, wallah akbir, wa la hawla wala quwata illa billah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (SWT) He is the only one who has no partners. His is the kingdom and all the praises are for Allah (SWT) All the glories are for Allah (SWT) And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is the most Great and there is neither might nor power except with Allah (SWT) and then says, Allahumma ighfir li (O Allah! Forgive me) or invokes Allah (SWT), he will be responded to and if he makes ablution and performs Salat (prayer), his Salat (prayer) will be accepted.
[Sahih al-Bukhari]
2. At The End of Salah Before The Tasleem
Narrated Abu Omamah (RA): that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) was asked, O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is heard (by Allah (SWT), he said ‘the end of the night and at the end of the obligatory Salat (prayer)‘ [at-Tirmidhi]. This time is after saying ‘At-tahyat’ and before making Tasleem (finishing prayer)

Keutamaan Sepuluh Hari Pertama Dzulhijah.Adapun keutamaan beramal di sepuluh hari pertama Dzulhijah diterangkan dalam hadits Ibnu ‘Abbas radhiyallahu ‘anhuma berikut,

“Dan demi malam yang sepuluh.” (QS.

The Story of Hazrat Halima Sa`diyya (Radiyallahu anha), the foster mother of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) is well-known.
The custom of the Arabs who lived in the towns was to entrust their young children in the care of the Bedouin women, who earned a living by being wet nurses. For the town Arabs, this time afforded their children the healthy environment of the desert; facilitating good health, strength and an opportunity to master the rich, untainted speech of the Bedouins.
Thus, it was the good fortune of Hazrat Halima Sa`diyya(Radiyallahu anha), that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) was destined for her.
In the many books on the Seerah, we read Hazrat Halima’s(Radiyallahu anha) personal account of how she, her husband and baby travelled in the company of other women, in search of children to suckle. It was a time of famine and drought and theirs was a state of hunger and want, to the extent that she could not even feed her baby.
On reaching Makkah Mukarramah, none of the women were prepared to accept Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) once they were told that he was an orphan. Their hope was to secure a child whose father would reward them generously.
Whilst the other women were successful in their quest,Hazrat Halima(Radiyallahu anha) was not. Before departing from Makkah Mukkarramah, she decided to take the orphaned baby, rather than have none to take home. There was no other choice that she had.
Hazrat Halima (Radiyallahu anha)relates herself, that the moment she lifted him into her arms, she found to her great surprise, that she had sufficient milk to feed him, as well as her own little baby. And she thereafter related the good fortune that came their way whilst taking care of the little Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) : Their she-camel was suddenly blessed with plentiful of milk; her lean, slow donkey was suddenly blessed with strength and speed; their barren land was blessed with plentiful of grass for their animals to feed on. And like this, prosperity filled their home due to the presence and blessings of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam).

How to Seek Benefit in Your Recitation of Qur'an - Productive Muslim
- by Umm Salih -
Is it that you hold your Mushaf, are reciting from it and yet your mind is wandering from the food in the fridge to the weather outside? You’re unaware of what you are articulating and can’t just focus? If so this piece of writing is intended for you.
Reciting the Qur’an is a source of barakah and, as we know, barakah is a key to productivity. Therefore we must aim to recite it in anticipation of Allah’s pleasure and barakah from him.
Indeed reading the Arabic words contains reward and you attain 10 rewards for every single letter that you pronounce. However, reading while reflecting and reciting with comprehension holds a greater benefit! Unfortunately Arabic, for many of us, is a foreign language and we are only skimming through the pages.
Here are some tips for a productive Quran recital; get the most benefit out of it!
1. Choose a hassle free time when your brain is unsullied and free from the clutters and chatters of everyday life. The best time for sure is around Fajr, it’s the time of barakah, and reciting Quran at that time is witnessed as Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) (glorified and exalted be He) says: “Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Quran of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.”[Quran: Chapter 17 ,Verse 78]

Selalu Bangun Tidur Awal

Rasulullah s.a.w. selalu bangun tidur sebelum subuh bagi melaksanakan solat sunnah.

Sifat kikir telah mengarahkan mereka agar memutuskan hubungan, lalu mereka memutuskannya, mengarahkan mereka agar kedekut, lalu mereka pun menjadi kedekut, mengarahkan  mereka agar melakukan keburukan lalu mereka pun melakukan keburukan."

Whenever a person faces hardship, it’s easy for him/her to give up and walk away from their challenges or complain and blame those around him/her. They fall into depression, feel sad about their situation and feel powerless. They don’t understand “why this is happening to them” or “what they did to deserve this”. But for a ProductiveMuslim, his/her way of thinking is completely different.
Whenever a ProductiveMuslim faces hardship, he/she takes a step back from their difficult situation and thinks about it from a higher level. They step back from their life with all its worries, anxieties, problems, and thinks about it from an Akhira perspective, then they ask themselves the question: what does this ALL mean when compared to the Hereafter? What does this ALL mean when compared to eternity in Jannah?
One of the main misunderstanding we all have in this life is that if we do good, we should get good in this life and hereafter. This is not entirely true.
This life is not the life we’ll get justice in. If this was the case, there would be no need for a Day of Judgement or Akhira.

Six Poductive and Practical Ways for Walking out of Depression - Productive MuslimDepression is a condition which affects a growing population of individuals around the world. It does not discriminate with regard to race, educational background, social status or religion. Despite the fact that there is nothing to be ashamed of, individuals who suffer from this condition usually bear it quietly for fear of the stigma of being labelled as having a mental incapacity.
Islam being not just a religion but also a complete way of life has provided us with a solution out of every problem, and depression is one problem the solution to which can be found in the teachings of Islam. I must stress here that I will not discuss anti-depressants as steps for walking out of depression, the reason being, I consider them to be more chemical than practical. Speaking from personal knowledge and experience, we shall examine six ways of rising above the trials and tribulations of depression:

1.   Reciting Suratul Nas:

Basically, depression mostly consists of feelings of self-doubt and extremely low self-esteem which I can attribute to the deceptive whisperings of Shaitan. When one peruses through the meaning of Suratul Nas, you will notice it is mostly a prayer for protection from the whisperings of Shaitan. Consistently reciting Surah tul Nas, whenever feelings of self-doubts surface; will safeguard one from depression and uplift the mood of one who suffers from depression.

Ideally, we would like to have more knowledge about Islam as it would be useful for us but is it important to gain knowledge? The answer is YES! The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said,
“Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every muslim” [Sunan Ibn Majah].
So we know we have to seek knowledge but what are the benefits of gaining knowledge? Below are some points that can help motivate and steer us towards acquiring knowledge about Islam.

According to Ibn al-Qayyim, there are five conditions to achieve Istiqamah in performing required deeds:
1. The act should be done for the sake of Allah alone (ikhlas).
2. It should be done on the basis of knowledge ('ilm).
3. Performing ibadah should be in the same manner that they have been commanded.
4. To do it in the best way possible.
5. Restricting oneself to what is lawful while performing those deeds.
According to other scholars of suluk, i.e. behavior, there are certain steps to be followed in order to achieve Istiqamah (steadfastness):
1. Always being aware of the final destination, i.e. the Day of Judgment (Akhirah). And to use this awareness in a positive way as a motive to do good deeds. One way to do it is through remembering that a person's journey towards Akhirah starts the minute he / she passes away and leaves this world. One of the Salafs said: "If you live until the morning do not wait for the evening and if you live until the evening do not wait for the morning."
2. Commitment (Musharatah). One has to make a commitment that he/she will be steadfast and will do things in the right way and in the best way possible, and to adhere to conjunctions of Islam. Unfortunately many Muslims are being lenient in making such a commitment.
3. To make continuous efforts (Mujahadah) to bring that commitment to reality. Some Muslims dare to make the commitment, but dare not to make the effort to make the commitment a reality.
4. Continuous checking and reviewing of one's deeds (Muraqabah).Being honest with oneself so as not to give false excuses for failing to fulfill a commitment.
5. Self accountability (Muhasabah). This should be done twice: Firstly, before we start doing something, ensuring that it pleases Allah, that we do it for His sake only, realizing the right way it should be done. Secondly, after the action has been done, to check whether we have achieved what we aimed for, and to check for defects and shortcomings, and that we still could have done it better by not being satisfied with our action.
6. Blaming oneself for not doing it perfectly after it has been done. Self blaming here is a positive one by using it as a motive, and by aiming for improvement and having the intention of doing things better next time. This leads to making another commitment and continual commitments to improve our performance.
7. Striving for improvement (Tahsin). We have to make improvements in all that we do (daily activities, work, actions, good deeds, ibadah, etc.) as one of our objectives.
8. To be humble towards Allah, realizing that no one is perfect except Him, seeking His forgiveness, guidance and support.
It should be emphasized that these steps/conditions apply to worldly matters as well as ibadah and good religious deeds.
